How to Find a Professional Resume Writer

The right resume can get you noticed and land you the right interviews. Many applicants, in today’s anxious job market, use professional resume writers to secure an impressive-looking resume.  Finding the right professional resume writer is critical to avoid wasting valuable time and not to mention your hard-earned money.

Most resume writers expect their money upfront. Therefore it’s wise to review their work, checking their sample resumes insuring they look customized and not like a template.

Request to contact some of their satisfied customers to verify their writing claims.

Determine whether the resume writer offers a written guarantee.  Many professional writers promise a free rewrite if their product doesn’t being you a relevant interview within a certain time frame.

Don’t let the resume writer make you look like someone who you aren’t.  Remember, once you land that interview, you will need to back-up every claim your resume makes.

Check to see if the writer has a sufficient grasp of your industry and lingo to write a resume that captures an employer’s attention.

While the field is unregulated, there are five U.S. Associations which certify resume writers. The certification processes vary from one association to another and some are more rigorous than others. The two I have noted below seem to be in the “more rigorous” group.
